There is no upside in sharing loggers between application processes, since they do not (and will not) deal with file locking. Therefore loggers are process-local utilities, so we don't need them to be visible from the file system. Downgrade the logger element to a plain single device from the factory. Each open instance of such device is a logging channel. Signed-off-by:

No upside in measuring timeout delays differently than referring to EVL_CLOCK_MONOTONIC. Let's converge to epoll_wait() in this respect. Signed-off-by:

Dovetails now invokes *inband_fd() notifiers while holding files->file_lock in most cases. Replace the regular kmem_cache for storing evl_fd structs by our core heap since we should not call potentially blocking inband services anymore. Signed-off-by:

device_create() issues a debug backtrace to the kernel log upon duplicate device name. Use a simple hash to detect this upfront in the element factory, returning gracefully with -EEXIST instead of having the kernel freak out. Signed-off-by:

As we are in the process of phasing out the nklock, convert atomic_only() to requires_ugly_lock() to give a clear hint that no more dependencies of that type should be added to the code. Signed-off-by:

EVL threads start running immediately after creation, there is no need for an intermediate stopped state. Let's open code the few bits required to set up the scheduling state of an emerging user/kernel thread instead, and get rid of this Cobalt legacy. Signed-off-by:
