cmd: pxe: add support for FDT overlays · 69076dff
Neil Armstrong authored and Tom Rini's avatar Tom Rini committed
This adds support for specifying FDT overlays in an extlinux/pxelinux
      configuration file.
Without this, there is no simple way to apply overlays when the kernel
and fdt is loaded by the pxe command.
This change adds the 'fdtoverlays' keyword for a label, supporting multiple
overlay files to be applied on top of the fdt specified in the 'fdt' or
      'devicetree' keyword.
        label linux
          kernel /Image
          fdt /soc-board.dtb
          fdtoverlays /soc-board-function.dtbo
          append console=ttyS0,115200 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rootwait
This code makes usage of a new variable called fdtoverlay_addr_r used to load
the overlay files without overwritting anything important.

cmd: pxe: add support for FIT config selection · 2023000a
Patrick Delaunay authored and Tom Rini's avatar Tom Rini committed
Add a way in configuration files (exlinux.conf for sysboot command)
to select a specific FIT configuration. The configuration is selected
with a string added after the FIT filename in the label "KERNEL" or
"LINUX", using the same format than bootm command:
      KERNEL [Filename]#<conf>[#<extra-conf[#...]]
This configuration string, beginning by '#', is directly appended
to bootm argument 1 after <kernel_addr_r>.
      bootm [<kernel_addr_r>]#<conf>[#<extra-conf[#...]]
      see doc/uImage.FIT/command_syntax_extensions.txt for details
      Example :
       KERNEL /fit.itb#cfg1
       KERNEL /fit.itb#cfg2
Configuration can be use also for overlay management :
       KERNEL /fit.itb#cfg1#dtbo1#dtbo3
      see doc/uImage.FIT/overlay-fdt-boot.txt for details

SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel style · 83d290c5
      Tom Rini authored
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and
there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the
area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it
with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the
Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first
line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line)
and with slightly different comment styles than us.
In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility
and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style.
This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared
license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag
contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag
      and have introduced one.

PXE: FDT: Add support for fdt in PXE · a655938a
Chander Kashyap authored and Joe Hershberger's avatar Joe Hershberger committed
Now DT support is becoming common for all new SoC's. Hence it is better
to have option for getting specific FDT from the remote server.
This patch adds support for new label i.e. 'fdt'. This will allow to
retrieve 'fdt blob' from the remote server. This patch take care for
      the following scenarios.
The usage of fdt is optional.
The 'fdt blob' can be retrieved from tftp or can be available locally
      or can be absent.
If 'fdt_addr_r' environment variable is set and 'fdt' label is defined
retrieve 'fdt blob' from tftp. 'fdt_addr_r' is then passed along bootm
If 'fdt_addr' is set and 'fdt blob' is not retrieved from the tftp pass
'fdt_addr' to bootm command. In this case 'fdt blob' will be available
      at 'fdt_addr'.
If 'fdt_addr' is not set and 'fdt blob' is not retrieve from tftp pass
NULL to boot command. In this case 'fdt blob' is not required and absent.

      Add pxe command · 06283a64
Jason Hobbs authored and Wolfgang Denk's avatar Wolfgang Denk committed
Add pxe command, which is intended to mimic PXELINUX functionality.
'pxe get' uses tftp to retrieve a file based on UUID, MAC address or IP
address. 'pxe boot' interprets the contents of PXELINUX config like file
to boot using a specific initrd, kernel and kernel command line.
This patch also adds a README.pxe file - see it for more details on the
      pxe command.
